Nigel worked as a professional pilot with the Civil Aviation Calibration and VIP Flight operating throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific before joining the New Zealand Office of Air Accident Investigation including three years on secondment to the Australian Bureau of Air Safety Investigation as Chief Inspector of Air Accidents in Papua New Guinea.
